(UTV|COLOMBO) – General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP) Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam says the UNP will reveal its Presidential candidate in the upcoming week.
Speaking to media after a discussion at the Temple Trees last night, the Minister said the Presidential candidate could be named by Wednesday.
Minister Kariyawasam noted party leaders discussed the statement by Minister Rauff Hakeem last Wednesday after the emergency Cabinet of Ministers meeting.
The Minister pointed out that a concerns persists over the statement stating that all party leaders disapproved of the statement.
Minister Sajith Premadasa also speaking to media after the meeting said matters related to carrying out election related activities free of divisions, was discussed during the talks.
Minister Premadasa added related matters will be discussed at future discussions.
