(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Department of Sri Lanka Railway (SLR) signed an agreement with Prima Company to recommence the transportation of Prima flour from China Bay, Trincomalee to Galle and Seeduwa.
It was signed by the General-Manager of SLR B. A. P. Ariyarathne and the General-Manager of Prima Company Tan Beng Chuan on Tuesday (27) at the Railway Department.
Under this initiative, it is expected to increase the revenue of the SLR while easing the traffic congestion due to the Container trucks and minimizing the environmental pollution.
About 15, 000 metric tons of Prima flour is expected to transport monthly under this project and thereby giving a monthly income of Rs. 11 million to the SLR.
