(UDHAYM,COLOMBO) – Showery condition is expected to enhance during next few days (particularly in the southern half of the island), Met. Department said.
Several spells of showers will occur in the Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota district.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy showers (above 50mm) are also likely at some places, especially in the Uva and Southern provinces.
Misty conditions can be expected in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces during the morning.
Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
