According to the Meteorological Department, the Sabaragamuwa Province in which the Ratnapura district is located is expected to receive more than 100 mm of rainfall.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Central, Southern and North-western provinces, the Department said in a weather forecast.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department also said that the sun would be directly overhead several areas in the Northern Province until September 07.
