The President of Indian Muslim League and Former Union Minister E Ahmad passes away

(UDHAYAM, KERALA) – Former Union Minister E Ahmad has passed away after suffering from heart attack.

Ahmad breathed his last at the RML Hospital in the national capital, hospital sources said.

He took ill in the Central Hall of Parliament during the President’s address yesterday (31st Tuesday).

Parliament staff tried to give him first aid but as his pain continued, he was rushed to the hospital.

He represented the Malappuram Lok Sabha constituency of Kerala.

Ahmad served as the Minister of State for External Affairs in the Manmohan Singh government. Seventy-eight year-old leader was also the President of Indian Muslim League.

The mortal remains of E Ahmaed were taken to his residence at 9 Trimurti Marg in New Delhi this morning so the public can pay their homage.

Member of Parliament and Indian Union Muslim League leader E.T. Mohammed Basheer told AIR that in the afternoon his remains will be flown to his home town Kannu, Indian media reports.
