(UTV|COLOMBO) – Several observational centres have been set up in the Northern Province to observe the annular solar eclipse set to be visible over Sri Lanka tomorrow.
The observational camps have been set up based on predictions made by local astronomers claiming the best visibility of the solar eclipse will be in the Northern Province.
Accordingly the camps have been set up centred around the Jaffna University, the Engineering Faculty of the Jaffna University in Kilinochchi and the Mullaitivu coastal line.
The solar eclipse is set to be visible for Sri Lanka between 8.10am and 11.24am tomorrow.
The Arthur C Clarke Foundation has advised the public to practice precaution when viewing the solar eclipse as observing it with a naked eye could be harmful.
