(UTV|COLOMBO) – SL Navy recovered a haul of Kerala Cannabis which were floating in the seas off Mannar.
Accordingly, two suspicious parcels which were floating in the seas were spotted while a patrol carried out by the North Central Naval Command in the seas off Mannar and by further search 86.520kg of KG packed in these two parcels were found. It is believed that the suspects have escaped leaving the haul of KG, due to the operations conducted by the Navy.
The recovered haul of KG was handed over to Talaimannar Police for further investigation.
As a result of continuous operations carried out by SL Navy in the seas off coastal line and in the Sri Lankan territorial waters, this nature of illegal drug trafficking have been averted and brought it minimize.
