Muthur Sathosa outlet earns over Rs 600,000 on opening day

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The newest Lanka Sathosa outlet, the 325th, in Muthur received a turnover of Rs 611,000, catering to almost 1,000 consumers on the very first day of service.

Rishad Bathiudeen, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, was present at the launching ceremony on 12th February. Upon addressing the gathering, he said, “Lanka Sathosa is the largest state owned retail business in Sri Lanka. We have 3500 employees with an annual turnover of Rs. 30 billion. The new management of has developed strategies for expansion. Among them are 125 CCTV Projects, 195 ERP projects, setting up 5 laboratories, and installing a Human Resource Information System.”

Market studies reveal Lanka Sathosa is a boon to households with income Rs 30,000 and below which makes up60% of the population.
