The MDMK Chief was stopped at the Kuala Lumpur Airport and questioned for several hours on his alleged links with the Tamil rebel group and later denied permission to enter the country.

ANI reported that Vaiko was identified as a member of the LTTE and revealed that his name also figured in the list of persons who were dangerous.

The politician had visited the country upon being invited for the wedding of Penang State’s Deputy Chief Minister Ramasamy Palanisamy’s daughter on Saturday (10).

The LTTE, which fought for an independent Tamil state in Sri Lanka, remains outlawed in India as well.
