(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The government has imposed a Maximum Retail Price (MRP) for five essential food items under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act No. 09 of 2002.
Accordingly, a kilo of dhal is priced at Rs.159, a kilo of peas Rs.205, a kilo of Dubai sprats Rs.405, a kilo of white sugar Rs. 93, and a kilo of potatoes Rs.115.
These MRPs are effective from 27th January.
