Indian PM to unveil 400 Tata Nano electric cars – [VIDEO]

UTV|COLOMBO – In a bid to reduce pollution and carbon emission levels, the Indian government has already cleared its stand on the implementation of electric vehicles.

Seeing this, various carmakers are joining hands to roll out electric vehicles in India.

Tata Nano Electric might have a close to 150 km range and will be only seen in the White colour.

It also said the technology used in the Tata Nano Electric would be similar to that of the Tigor, which would be supplied to EESL.

This technology is jointly developed by its sister company Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Motors UK team. The platform will remain the same as of the old Nano.

The electric version of the Nano will be manufactured and marketed by Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives.

Speculations are rife that the Neo will cost roughly 500,000 Indian rupees.

At this price point, the Nano-based hatchback will become the cheapest four-seater electric car in the market.

While the electric Nano will be sold as the Jayem Neo, Tata Motors might launch its own version in the coming months.

With this, the company will have as many as three EVs in its product portfolio – Nano EV, Tiago EV, and Tigor EV.

The Coimbatore-based company will supply 400 units of this car to Ola Cabs, the popular cab aggregator, on the day of the launch.

Main features:

Electric power steering

Air Conditioner

Front Power Windows

Central Locking with Remote

12V Power Socket
