UTV | COLOMBO – MP Chandima Weerakkody says that the 16 Sri Lanka Freedom Party parliamentarians including himself, who recently resigned from the government, took their seats in the opposition yesterday (May 08) according to the correct protocol.
He said this responding to a query posed by a prominent media network in the isle.
However, Minister Vijith Vijayamuni Soya expressing his views to the media yesterday in Parliament said that the 16 MPs sat with the opposition prior to the ceremonial mace being placed in the parliamentary chamber.
