(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Google announced the names of six Indian start-ups which have been shortlisted for the fourth class of the company’s Google Accelerator Program.
The company said the six start-ups would be joining a group of young ventures from all over Asia, Latin America, Africa and Europe at the Google Developers Launchpad Space in San Francisco. With this batch, a total of 26 Indian companies had so far joined the launchpad accelerator programme from India.
“We’re thrilled to see the quality of start-ups coming from India and we look forward to working [with] them closely for the next six-months,” Paul Ravindranath G, Programme Manager, Google India, said in a statement.
One such startup is RailYatri which has created a big data platform that leverages crowd-sourced content to help long distance travellers. Other company IndiaLends has built a credit underwriting and analytics platform for unsecured consumer lending. The fourth class will kick off from July and will include two weeks of all-expense-paid mentorship boot camp. This batch will also gain from Google`s new curriculum that will help the firms to dig deeper into machine learning and artificial intelligence. It would also help them leverage Google’s latest technologies to scale their apps.
In the six-months programme, Google said these firms will undergo intensive mentoring from over 20 teams across Google and mentors from top technology companies and venture capitalists in the Silicon Valley. Additionally, they will receive equity-free support and credits for Google products.
