(UDHAYAM, CHENNAI) – A stock of abortion tablets and painkillers that were prepared to be sent to Sri Lanka illegally by the sea was taken into custody by police on Rameshwaran coastal area in the Tamil Nadu state of India.
The medicines were packed inside 9 parcels stored in 6 bags. The discovery was made on a tip received.
The bags containing these medicines were captured just before a boat carrying them was planning to leave to Sri Lanka near Mundalmunai coastal area in Pamban, Rameshwaran.
Indian media reported that the suspects have fled leaving the medicines and the boat.
