Landslide early warning issued for 6 districts

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Public Health Inspector’s Union has requested the public to be vigilant when purchasing rice, dhal, chilli powder and coconut oil during the festive season.

Secretary of the Union M Balasooriya said rice, dhal, chilli powder and coconut oil which were found to be unsuitable for human consumption were discovered at several stores during raids carried out over the past 10 days.

He said legal action was taken against 760 such stores under the Food Act.

The Public Health Inspector’s Union also urged the public to inform the nearest PHI Office to complain of traders selling goods unsuitable for consumption.
