(UTV|COLOMBO) – Every train station will be empowered with GPS tracking technologies and will monitor its activities with the use of CCTV camera systems, the Railway Services State Minister C. B. Rathnayake said.
The background for the process of digitalizing of railway stations is underway and would come into effect from next year.
Every train station should be empowered with digital time tables which will help to monitor train schedules accurately.
The Railways General Manager should also be able to monitor the real-time train schedules and as well as the late trains.
Relevant backgrounds should also be made when considering peoples transportation in 2020.
